Innovators are among the established and emerging leaders in business and government, yet they continue to seek challenges. Their lives are characterized by variety. Their possessions and recreation reflect a cultivated taste for the finer things in life."

I would say that I definitely agree with what this says about my. I was raised in a family of innovators as well. I think that this is also indicative of the places I enjoy shopping. This certainly falls in line with the Target person we talked about in our group on Tuesday. The store we talked about in class was 9 West. We talked about how their target customers are young execs that are just starting out in the world who want to be stylish and still have comfort for the work place.

Blog Assignment 1

So this is our first blog assignment, which happens to be, "write about your favorite retailer, give 5 reason why this retailer is your favorite over all others." While I was thinking, my first instinct was that I had to do something really fashionable, but the more thought I gave the assignment, there was one retailer that kept coming to mind- QVC. Now many people my age think that QVC is just for old women that sit at home and have nothing else to do and/or no other way to shop. However, there are many reasons that come to my mind that makes this my favorite retailer.
The first reason I love QVC so much is because they offer a wide variety of products. QVC offers anything from children's toys to high end make up to NFL leather jackets for men. Not only do they have a wide variety of product categories but within each category there are many brands that are offered. Which leads me into the next reason I love QVC so much, because they offer so many different brands, they cater to many different people who shop in different price ranges. And to that effect, they have low prices every day along with something they call the "Today's Special Value." This is a product that they feature all day long with different presentations that is being sold for an extremely low price.

The third reason I enjoy shopping with QVC is because they offer many different ways to pay for their products while still receiving them promptly. They accept all types of credit cards and even offer their own line of credit which allows you to get even better discounts on the things they are selling, but these aren't the only things that make paying with QVC easy. They often times offer what they call "Easy Pay," which is where they do a flex payment system. For example if a $45 item is on Easy Pay, it might be on 3 Easy Payments of $15. They may offer this on $700 items or $20 items. They also offer an incentive to buy more of certain items with "Buy More, Save More," which is where if you buy more than one of an item then on every subsequent item you get a certain dollar amount off.

Another reason shopping with QVC is a good experience is because there are multiple ways to shop with them. You can either tune in on the television or you can long onto the net and see all the different products they offer. This makes quick shopping easy. the fifth and most important reason I love shopping with QVC is watching it on television. The hosts are very personable and entertaining, there is never any telling what might come out of their mouth. Plus, while they are entertaining you they tell you all about the products they are selling, so by the end of the product segment, you know all the ends and outs of the item. All of these things make shopping with QVC quite an enjoyable experience.
